Grants for states to counsel low-income families on child-rearing practices (a little overbearing, wouldn't you say?)
And, if Senators John Kerry D-MA and Orrin Hatch R-Utah has their way, government health care, and indeed all health care (since it will essentially be controlled by the federal government), will cover Christian Science faith healing.
Don't get me wrong, prayer works. (And so does medicine, which is where I differ from Christian Scientists.) But should insurance pay for prayer?
As the Cato Institute points out, when health care becomes part of the political arena, it becomes politicized.
