It was a dark and stormy night, and the stimulus was .....
A little wet?
In Georgia, at the Community Action Council, supposedly 935 jobs were saved. Only problem is that just 508 people work there.
At Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, 14506 were reported as "saved". But apparently over 9300 jobs just had pay raises--they weren't "saved".
In north Chicago, the schools received over $4 million and saved 473 teacher jobs--but the schools only hire 290 teachers!
In the rest of Illinois, it's much the same for teacher jobs--for example, in Wilmette, the WH claims 166 jobs saved. The school officials say the number is "0", as in zero. In Kankakee, the number is given at 665 full-time jobs saved. "Impossible", says the school district, as they only have 600 jobs, both full and part time.
But the White House says it's okay to overreport on "saved" jobs, because that will probably balance out those underreported job saves elsewhere.
Got that? I'm glad they don't balance my checkbook!
