Fort Hood

I really wasn't going to write about Ft. Hood, but besides the terrible tragedy that it truly was--it's also becoming incredibly political.

It seems that the murderer (not the alleged shooter--wow, what a delicate way of stating it!) was, at the very least, becoming more and more fanatic and leaning toward an extremist form of Islam. He made statements several times that were extreme enough to cause his fellow soldiers to complain to complain to superiors. He was briefly investigated a year ago for web postings to radical Islamic sites. He was distraught about going overseas. He had bought 2 guns, cleaned out his apartment, and said goodbye to friends.

At least the first three problems, together, should have alerted the Army that something was wrong. But apparently Political Correctness won out.

This is not fair to our troops. They deserve better than that.
