The Commander-in-Chief has had almost 60 days since the general that he placed over Afghanistan, General McChrystal, has asked for 40,000 more troops.
The general that Mr. Obama has only talked to twice thus far.
President Obama states that he needs more time to decide on his strategy, although he enunciated a strategy back in March (see previous entry: http://politicopolitico.blogspot.com/2009/09/white-house-on-afghanistan-with-my-take.html )
The comment from Secretary of Defense Gates?
"It's just a matter now of getting the time with the president when we can sort through these options and then tee them up for him to make a decision," Gates said, adding that several important folks were traveling abroad at the moment and needed to get back to Washington, D.C.
Umm........where has everyone been these last 60 days?
Don't our men and women in uniform deserve just a tad more consideration that this?
