You may have noticed lots of reports about the White House and Fox News lately.
The White House press secretary Gibbs declared Fox News "not a news agency", stating that this was the opinion of the White House:
while Anita Dunn, White House communications director (one of whose favorite political philosophers is Mao Zedong--no, wait, Ms. Dunn protested that was a mistatement--Mao is just a guy that really got things done--as in murdering 1000's of people--is that what Ms. Dunn is referring to???) , stated Fox News is just "masquerading as news." Even President Obama got onto Fox News as not "real" news.
So, yesterday, it was Fox News' turn to be part of the team interviewing the pay czar, Mr. Feinberg.
(The many different news outfits work in teams, taking turns at the White House).
And the White House decided Fox News couldn't participate in the interviews.
Well, this didn't set so well with the other White House correspondents. They demanded that the White House allow Fox News their turn--or no one would cover the interview.
Good for the press--this is America, after all--and Freedom of the Press is guaranteed by our Constitution.
