A novel by George Orwell, where things didn't mean what they said--in order for the totalitarian government to control the media.
And a very interesting commentary here: http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/10/welcome_to_the_world_of_newspe.html
Example of things not meaning what they say:
The Respect for Marriage Act HR 3567
--where any committed relationship between 2 people would be defined as marriage (nullifying states' rights in this matter)
The Employees Free Choice Act HR 800
--where the secret ballot is taken away from union workers. Some free choice here!
The Internet Freedom Preservation Act
--which results in much more control of the internet by the FCC
The America Clean Energy and Security Act (otherwise known as cap-&-tax, errr, -trade)
--which would vastly increase energy costs through taxation of current, proven sources of energy without any benefit to the environment. There doesn't seem to be any relationship to our country's security, except maybe, since we will be so poor we can't afford electricity, our enemies won't be able to see us (remember blackouts in WWII?)
