ACORN--"Nuts to You"

In September, after the repeated reports of ACORN's willingness to aid and abet in illegal goings-on, Congress decided overwhelmingly to cut off federal funds to this group.
The vote was 85 to 11 in the Senate, and 345 to 75 AGAINST ACORN.
However, the Obama Administration found a legal loophole, with a legal interpretation by Acting Assistant Attorney General Barron, to continue funding ACORN despite the congressional vote.
Tuesday, an amendment was introduced to the House Appropriations Committee to close this loophole and defund ACORN.
It was voted down 9 to 5---9 Democrat versus 5 Republican representatives.
Just to let you know that, although the language is still in the Appropriatons Bill to prohibit funding ACORN, the Justice Department's ruling will render that prohibition null and void.
