Democrats want to ensure that illegal aliens get health care.

Social Security Goes Broke

Also today, Senate Democrats are seeking legislation to repeal immunity to communications company who have helped in wire-tapping efforts to stop terrorism. These Senators call these "warrantless" and "illegal" wiretaps under President Bush. http://dodd.senate.gov/?q=node/5238 --Even though these wire-taps have helped stop these terrorists.

President Obama chairs U.N. Security Council, supports nuclear disarmament
And Iran responds by firing off its newest and best medium-range missiles, capable of hitting Israel, parts of Europe, and American trooops in the Middle East. From Ayatollah Khamenei, "The armed forces of the Islamic Republic are now more powerful than ever and fully prepared to foil foreign threats."
Ouch.

However, France's President Sarkozy accused Obama of being a wimpy idealogue (my words)--"President Obama dreams of a world without weapons...but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite," Mr. Sarkozy said, upset that Mr. Obama was asking for more talks when he (Mr. Obama) was aware of Iran's secret nuclear plant. "What good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe out a UN member state off the map." So, what are now President Obama's plans to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power?
(Except for the fact that Mr. Obama has already stated Iran should be allowed to be a nuclear power, for peaceful purposes only, of course.)
Mr. Obama will hold talks with Iran beginning this Thursday.
One problem--Iran refuses to talk about its once-secret nuclear fuel plant that it has been hiding.

My vote for the UN speech of the week: Mr. Netanyahu from Israel--"To those who gave this Holocaust denier (speaking of the UN allowing Ahmadinejad to speak) a hearing, I say on behalf of my people. ... Have you no shame? Have you no decency?"
This is also after "Obama just put Israel 'on the chopping block,' " according to former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, referring to President Obama's assertion that "America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements."
