President Obama seems to pooh-pooh the brouhaha surrounding ACORN on his interview at ABC News. http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2009/09/obama-on-acorn-not-something-ive-followed-closely.html
ABC reports that "While the President said that ACORN 'deserves to be investigated' in light of the 'inappropriate' video..., he did not endorse recent votes in Congress to cut off federal funding for the community group."
This after the Census Bureau cut off ACORN because they were under investigation in Florida for voter fraud--see http://michellemalkin.com/2009/09/11/acorn-watch-census-bureau-cuts-ties/ and the House and Senate cut off federal funding.
The governor of Louisiana cut off state funding to ACORN (now that is something).
Now, the Department of Justice is going to investigate ACORN: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/21/justice-department-inspector-general-launches-internal-acorn-probe/
A whole bunch of other federal agencies and departments have been asked to look into ACORN also.
Should be interesting!
