Cash-for-Caulkers....Or, How Weatherizing Our Houses will Save the Economy

Part of President Obama's Stimulus Bill entailed weatherizing homes across the US in order to save energy and to create jobs.
Five billion was set aside for this endeavor, popularly named "Cash for Caulkers".
According to the Government Accountability Office, only 9,100 homes have been weatherized thus far. The Energy Department claims 22,000 homes.
The cost so far? 522 million dollars.
That's $52, 637.00 per house (using the GAO numbers) or $23,727.00, depending on who you believe.
